9 Digital Marketing Strategies

Digital Marketing became an integral part of the overall marketing plan, and companies’ budgets are having a significant share of digital marketing. I remember in 2011 when I used to work with MTS, a 66% budget used to go to BTL activity, but now the trend has been completely changed. A few days back, I saw an interview with Pepperfry CEO in the financial express that 60% of the marketing budget goes to digital.

I have collected nine digital Marketing strategies based on my personal and professional experiences as a Marketing Manager. During my stint in my recent assignment, I have realized that these are the points that could have covered in a better way to making marketing mix by Digital marketing team or marketing agency assigned for the brand.
A Marketing campaign would succeed when it is integrated into nature, taking everyone in the loop, either its digital team, BTL, or sales team.
These are those 9 Digital marketing strategies; instead, I would say tactics to turnaround your business.

  1.   Be social, use social media.

  2.   Create videos, explaining your product and services

  3.  Start blogging and use SEO to rank well

  4.  Use influencers and decision makers.

  5. Experience the Magic of Linkedin

  6. Create an affiliate program

  7.  Email Marketing Sequences

  8. Lead Magnet to collect Emails and Enquiries

  9.  Facebook re-targeting and never let go of any visitors

Let’s have a detailed description of these 9 points..!

1) Use Social media

This point is important for your firm as well as all employees

  • All employees and team members must be available on all popular social sites and apps, and they are required to connect with the company profile and highlight the achievement and part of the engagement of the digital team’s effort. They must be answering queries and complaints raised on social media; it creates a positive vibe and ensures the users that the team is ready to solve the issue on the local level.
  • Offers should post on social media by everyone will ensure to reach this on a micro-level and make a success of the cost of the advertisement. One such example is – Manu Kumar Jain from Xiaomi, he has been very active on social media since the days of Jabong, he keeps on posting new initiatives of Xiaomi and also encourages his employees to post and share with their peers. If Xiaomi is created a niche for itself, the most significant credit goes to such activities.
  •  This strategy is called marketing without advertising. If you have the right product with a robust communication strategy, there is no need to spend a lot, but the objective can be achieved. Still, sometimes despite spending millions on TVC and hiring celebrities, your brand dies. Remember askmebazar.com, they appointed Ranbir Singh and had a great campaign on TV, but where is askmebazar.com today?

2) Create videos, explaining the product and services

  • Videos are the most interacting way of communication. Make small and simple videos to explaining the features of your product or services, that’s the best advertisement.
  • Dont make an ambiguous communication with so many positioning. Most of the brand makes this mistake and try to confuse the customers. I remember while doing a rural campaign for dishtv, offers were so confusing and ambiguous that the rural customer rejected it. Brand managers think that making the swanking ad and featuring brand ambassadors is enough to create a hype and pull the leads, but that’s big of a mistake, which we often see.

3)

Do SEO & Start Blogging

  • To keep your website rank well on google. Take help from digital marketers; if your business is new and small comparably, then you can keep interns to work on your website. The most important thing is not to work for the machine, but to write for humans. Don’t do keyword stuffing in content, and don’t try to use SEO rules to dodged google. Be honest and keep a balance between human and machine, believe me, if your website has value to its reader, insightful information, engaging and something unique, it will rank automatically.
  • Blogs are not just some content but a piece of solution in simple words. Don’t do just blogging; do business blogging that is Authority Blogging. Post your blogs on https://medium.com/ and https://www.reddit.com/
  • Engage people on Quora by answering the question asked in your niche https://www.quora.com/
  • create value for your customers. Be secure; don’t be afraid to reveal the secrets of your business and to share innovative ideas. Yes, I mean it, be confident. Read this piece of article, which I wrote on Piyush Pandey, the Ad Man of India.

4) Use influencers and decision-makers

  • Getting the right influencers promoting your product and services is the shortest way to boost your visibility. Don’t think that influencers mean having millions of followers on social media; even micro-influencers can be a part of your marketing strategy. Influencers can be a person who’s having ten thousand followers, but he must be from your niche and having the necessary traits and share a similar audience. This idea is one of the cost-effective ways of advertising in digital marketing.
  • You can see such influencers these days in business, politics, and film promotion. Each company has to have a separate set of influencers, but keep in mind that they don’t seem like paid influencers. You might have seen the sting by cobra post on youtube, that how film stars demand money to promote and influence people towards a particular political party.

5) Use Linkedin and make your own trusted network and highlight the strength

Linkedin is the most severe social networking platform, so use this wisely. If you have a strong connection base, then start taking full leverage. Here I am sharing a few points which should follow to make the benefits of your broad LinkedIn audience

  •  Start posting a video to your profile, introducing you and your business.
  • Small write-ups on your profile regarding the product category
  • You can also reach out to similar businesses, solution providers, and make an alliance with like-minded businesses and professionals on LinkedIn.
  • Linkedin Groups are the right way to engage the audience through interactive posts.

6) Create an affiliate program

Affiliate marketing has a massive power to boost your sales. It can fuel the growth by associating with the right affiliate partners, that is not so easy.

There are many websites, such as https://www.vcommission.com/ are there to help. Many YouTubers who are enjoying a significant following can be the partner of the affiliate partner. For a person from outside of digital marketing can ask what is Affiliate marketing, for them, I am sharing few link https://www.digitalvidya.com/blog/10-quick-tips-about

you can get an idea of how affiliate works. Affiliate is excellent for getting a recommendation but need to select the right and honest affiliates.

7)Email Marketing

This can be used to keep connecting your customer, providing them regular value downloads. Suppose if someone clicks somewhere or at some links, it means he has some interest in that particular part of communication. Keep such users to target the following list and if keep buyers in a separate file and keep communicating them further extended offers, substitute products, and loyalty offers. Use your daily Email thread to engage your subscribers. Be authentic and transparent with them and convey your message and make a part of your journey so far.

8) Use Lead Magnet

Now, what is a lead magnet?

You open a website, and a pop-up appears with the offer of free download an E-book or some reports with statics in PDF or some checklist or format. You overwhelmed and provided your email will address for such free downloads.

Your website must have such lead Magnet options for its users. It works well and helps you to create a relationship with your users or potential customers. Identify the pain point of your customer and present a solution in your lead magnet. For example, for marketers – provide them free format or checklist for music lovers – free download of songs. It could be anything from your niche, but it has some value to its customers.

9) Use Facebook ads with Re-Targeting

I believe everyone knows re-targeting. In simple words – re-targeting means – engaging your visitors again, those visited your website but left without making payment. While online shopping, we often select the product, but at the time of making the payment, we decide to explore something else. The human mind is very complex and keeps exploring new and something else. In a survey, it is found that if we target those users again with some revised offer, 26% chances are that they would buy this product.

Facebook is the most popular social app, so use the power of this reach and start re-targeting customers. Just keep this thing in mind that runs a different set of ads for different customers. For example – An Ad for Visitors who only 3 days old should be different from a visitor who is 6-7 days old, and offers and wordings of an ad should be different from the original copy.
