Amazing Pune

you must be surprised; that why I m writing on Pune, usually I write my experiences around marketing topics. This afternoon, when I was coming from range hills, I saw a coconut wala with having a small tabletop of google pay. It’s a normal thing these days, but it provoked me to write about Pune from my perspective, why Pune is so special to me. In 2018 Pune was voted the number one city to live. It has bagged the title of India’s most liveable city for 2018. It was as per the Ease of Living Index 2018, which was recently released by the Ministry of housing and urban affairs.

Lets me take you there and have some Pune-Darshan.

Oxford of East

Pune is considered the oxford of the east because of several prestigious educational institutes, research centers, universities, and colleges. World-famous Pune university is here, which has 433 affiliated colleges along with Symbiosis, MIT, FC college, ILS law college, IRMA, Bharti Vidyapeeth, Film Institute of India. From Science to Arts in each category, Pune has several renowned educational centers that attract thousands of students to come and study here, followed by settled here and pursue the career.

Pune’s journey from being an educational hub to an IT hub, thousands of students migrate every year to Pune for study, but now it has completely transformed from an educational center to an IT hub.

  Strategically important

Pune is considered the brane of India. It has many strategically important research institute, which produces the defense support, no wonder why Bhabha Atomic Research center is 100km far away from IISER, Pasan.

 IT capital of India –

Pune is believed to be the IT capital of India and the counterpart of Silicon Valley in India. It is widely discussed in social media that Bangalore is ahead of Pune in terms of having the number of IT firms. Both cities have been competing with each other for this title since the IT Boom days. Most of the IT companies are having their offices in many IT parks across Pune.

Mini Germany: –

Pune is hosting the maximum number of German companies in India. Companies like Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen, Siemens, Thyssen Krupp, and Schaeffler are some of the critical companies here. Pune is the single largest hub for German companies from the last 60 years; over 225 have set up their businesses in Pune. Below is the link of all german companies operating in Pune. Even the German language was first introduced in India in 1911 in Deccan College at Pune. Every year around 2000, students are learning the German language from Pune, said Michael Flucht, director, Goethe Institut Max Mueller Bhavan, Pune.

  • Beaches-

Beeches are just 170 KM far from Pune, Harihareshwar Beach, along with so many other famous beeches in Raigad. 14 Pristine Beaches Near Pune That Are a Perfect Weekend Getaway. Tarkali Beach, Alibaug Beach, Mandwa Beach, Ganpati Pule Beach, Murud Beach, Kashid beach, and so on, even 6-8 hours journey and you can explore picturesque goa and its famous beaches on a two-wheeler. Just imagine a person in north India has to think twice to visit goa, but a Punekar goes to goa on Friday night and resume the office on Monday morning.

  • Forts and historical places

There are 350 forts in Maharashtra, in which 17 forts are in Pune. These include Rajmachi, Torna, Rajgad, Sinhagad, Lohagad, and Shivneri, which is just outskirt in Pune. The perfect place for those who love to explore history lane. Some of the areas that you can visit are Aga Khan Palace, Pataleshwar Temple, and Shanivar Wada, which is in the heart of the city. You can explore the historical marvels of Ajanta and Ellora, which is just a few hours on Aurangabad road.

  • Rishikesh in Pune

There is a Rishikesh in Pune, Paragliding is a good option for those who don’t want to go Rishikesh for this adventure sports. White water rafting, which is happening in Rishikesh, can be enjoyed just 2 hours from Pune.

  • Thieving Nightlife:-

Thanks to the law and order status in Pune, Pune’s nightlife is fantastic, glamorous, and safe. There are hundreds of clubs, pubs, and lounges that are here to mesmerize you.

 Spirituality:-

Everyone knows about Osho, yes, the famous spiritual guru who was a significant talking point in the mid-80s. Lanes of Koregaon Park will take you to another world, many yoga centers, to arguably spiritual Osho Ashram. Pune has so many options for a person who loves to explore the spiritual side. For a religious person, Dagru Seth Halwai temple, Chaturshingi temple, Vishrambag, Mahalaxmi temple, and just a few hours far – Shirdi sai baba and Shani signapur temple.

·Proximity to Mumbai:–

Pune has a fantastic advantage that’s Mumbai. India’s most modern and financial capital is just 160KM far, just imagine you can excess the commercial hub of Andheri East in 3 hours from Baner, and India’s Superstars are living in only a few hours from your driving room and if u leave Pune on Sunday morning, to meet Mr. Amitabh Bachchan at10 am at his bungalow. Pune is the place where old blends with new, and tradition blend with modernity almost seamlessly. A person living in Sadashiv Peth can explore the neighborhood of Bandra, too, which is a mere dream for a delhite.

Awesome Mausam

Pune’s pleasant climate invites people to make this city their residence for centuries. This is the reason this city used to call – pensioners city. Not too hot and not too cold. Summers are quite amiable, and the rainy season is stretched from June to October. I never required to buy a sweater and woolen jacket in the winter season, A simple Adidas jacket is enough for Pune’s winter. Altogether, the climate is superb and an opportunity to have a celebration throughout the year, even rocking nightlife.

Delicious food

Pune is famous for its authentic Maharashtrian foods. Visit joins in Peth area for Wada Pao, Paw bhaji, and traditional Konkani and malware food. It has so many mouths watering food joints in each area along with few only in Pune type of items such as – CAD-M- If you are in Pune, please enjoy CAD-B in Karvenagar near Karishma society, which is the first place CAB-B and CAD-M and cold coffee at Durga Café at MIT college road. Few other famous food joints are. – Vaishali for south Indian food at FC road, Jerman bakery at KP, Bedekar Misal, Chaitanya Paratha, Vohuman café, Vada Pao at JJ Garden vada pao, Keema Pao at Good luck at FC road and yes for non-veg, please visit – Tiranga and Blue Nile at the camp area. Dont be surprised to know that Tanduri Team was invented from Pune only.

Manufacturing and Defence Hub –

Pune’s Pimpri Chinchwad area is one of the biggest manufacturing hubs, a number of companies are there. Now it is spread all the corners of Pune, you go to any road which goes out of Pune and you will find MIDC area ( Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation). few major factories which I have seen – LG, whirlpool, Kirloskar, Tata Motors, Bajaj, Finolex, Jindal, Bharat forge, Cummins, Honeywell and so many. Pune is the center of automobile companies for decades due to favorable policies and works environment.

Puns is a big defense center in which so many army camps and establishments are spread across Pune. It is the only city in India with three cantonment areas, which underlines its importance as a military base. The Headquarter of southern command is in Pune. India’s number one National Defence Acadamy – NDA is also in Pune. There are other establishments too which is not known to the public and I also dont want to share this on a public platform. Pune was an army bastion since British raj days when it was called Poona.

Masked Girls – This is only found in Pune. A fashion statement for modern girls of Pune, they can be seen anywhere – riding a scooter, pedaling down to college on cycle or walking in the park or coming out from theatre or malls but their entire face and head are tightly covered with a Dupatta or scarf. This is funny because they are modern, smart, work outside and handle so many things but they hide their faces with a scarf. It is not because the ozone hole has surely moved over Pune or Pune is the most polluted or hot city because of that these girls are compelled to wear this scarf.
